Creative Textile Waste Management

Vancouver Seamwork Social Club Metro Vancouver co-hosted Creative Textile Waste Management with Amanda White and Lois Klassen at LEAF. Participants in this workshop were invited to learn about global and local textile waste issues. Amanda and Lois shared their research and previous work around textile waste and examples of creative projects that address textile waste and promote sustainability in home sewing and domestic textile use. Lois provided a demo of creative projects including meditation or yoga cushions and dog beds that can be made by members for personal use or gifting. There was a group to exchange for brainstorming more ideas for managing textile waste in small and large ways.
